Your Wedding Day

Our First Meeting
The whole process can often be up to a year from planning, through to the day itself, through to the final album being in your hands and the framed print on the wall! So we get to know each other very well, which is why choosing the right photographer is so important…
So I always like to meet you, the bride and groom, before the wedding day to meet and introduce ourselves. I can show some previous albums and books and you can tell me more about your plans and ideas.
An option at this stage is an engagement shoot which some couples like to do, while others are happy to wait until the big day itself before being photographed!

An engagement photo shoot takes place on location, somewhere special to you, to capture the pre-wedding excitement. It is a great way to get used to being in front of the camera, to help you relax and enjoy the experience. I’m primarily a natural light photographer so I’ll get you to choose an outdoor location that is special to the two of you, to truly reflect everything you are and how you spend time together. These photographs make a great memory of the ‘before’, and can also be used for invitations and other wedding visuals.
By this point you will be busy planning your day… booking the florist, your hair & makeup, considering transport and choosing a wedding cake - if you need any recommendations of excellent suppliers I am happy to help!

Pre-Wedding
About 4-6 weeks before the wedding I like to meet up again. We can then run through all the timings and full schedule planned for the day. We can discuss any particular family photographs you would like included, and it’s always helpful if I have an understanding of ‘Who’s Who’ of both your families, and your friends, and any ‘must have’ information of those who will be there as guests on your wedding day.
Next is the wedding day itself…..
I’m with you from when you start preparing in the morning.

I start with the bride and her bridesmaids getting ready, discreetly observed and photographed from a distance. Like most of the day I’ll just quietly be there in the background, following what is happening, staying out of the way, capturing everything as it happens... real emotions, real moments, those that can never be recreated.
I always like to pop over to see the groom and his groomsmen too if they are nearby, or if not, I meet them before the ceremony for a few actions shots!

I’ll leave a little ahead of you to be there when you arrive at the church or civil ceremony, and capture naturally the special moments of the marriage ceremony itself.
“We thought the formal photos were going to be the most important… but the natural ones turned out to be our favourites because we saw that everyone was in the moment as much as we were!”

Quiet Moments
From here I follow you straight to your reception, and usually at this point in the day , we try and steal some quiet moments with just the two of you, away from all your guests, to give you a few moments to yourselves, and to create some natural portraits – I love to seek out interesting backgrounds and soft natural light where we can have fun away from prying eyes.... and create some amazing photographs!
After this I recommend a few carefully planned family portraits, before shifting back to natural reportage shots of the laughter with family and friends and the day as it flows…

The First Dance
I stay until the first dance... the final shot in the album.
I then start work on editing your images - you can see examples here of how I transform your images from raw footage into professionally edited photographs that you will cherish forever.

Image Selections
One-two weeks after the wedding your images will have been edited and the final selections made. You will receive a link to your own online web gallery displaying the final images, typically 400-500. You can view, share, download and print as many images as you like, they are all yours and all your friends and family can access them hassle-free.
If you’d like an album, at this stage you choose about 100 of your favourite images, and I will design a layout for you. You can choose the cover and the style of pages to create the perfect album for you.
