Chess & Damian's Surrey wedding at Hampton Court House
Key Wedding Photography Details:
Chess & Damian are both architects and met at work, sitting next to each other, working on a design for a skyscraper together! Many late nights model making, designing, drawing and chatting over hot chocolate. Their shared love of design and construction soon developed into a relationship and will no doubt continue to define their marriage.
Hampton Court House was the perfect venue for this designer pair, they fell in love with the venue the first time they saw it. Which is not surprising as the Grade II listed facades are spectacular as is the charming faded grandeur of the interiors.
Chess & Damian added lots of personal touches to their day. They suspended the fairy lit glass roof in the Orangery with 50 metallic rose gold ombre paper lanterns (sprayed themselves!); they made, painted and decorated a candy cart, and sourced (all vegetarian) 25kg of sweets for it! Chess designed and made a stamp with a their own logo on which branded all the sweetie bags. They handmade large flower hoops, sprayed rose gold and decorated with flowers and ribbons – these were suspended along the back wall above the bar. The hoops said: “today – I married -my best – friend – let’s party!” They also made a “cake” sign sprinkled with rose gold glitter and lit the staircase with candles and petals. All in all, the venue looked stunning!
Wedding Photography in the rain can be much more difficult but with the right attitude, umbrellas and wellies at the ready, and lots of creativity we created some beautiful photographs to capture the wonderful celebration Chess & Damian created.
“Thank you so so much for the wedding photos Jo – they are brilliant! You made the dreariest of days look vibrant! We love that you’ve captured so many moments we were unaware of – and our guests all look happy and that means the world to us! I’m not upset it rained constantly at all anymore; as I think the wellie & umbrella shots are my favourites! We will spend a huge amount of time looking at these again and again! “
